We are delighted to welcome you as a visitor to our website. Yet, the true beauty about the Altmarkt-Galerie website for you as an Internet user is: we don’t just have this virtual presence, but a real one, too, and we cordially invite you to visit our shopping center on old market square at the heart of Dresden’s old town section.

The old market square has been the commercial center of historic Dresden ever since the 12th century, as so many street names in the vicinity testify: Webergasse (“Weaver Lane”), Tuchmachergasse (“Clothier Lane”), Zahnsgasse (“Dentist Lane”) and Scheffelgasse (“Bushel Lane”). On this historic ground, you can now enjoy more than 100 speciality shops, cafés and restaurants.

The auspicious integration of the Altmarkt-Galerie into Dresden’s old town has already been singled out for several international awards. Not only are we naturally proud of this, but we see it as a commitment – to you, our visitor, and to the heart of Dresden. As an active member of the city management, we work with representatives from trade and tourism interests within the city administration along with dedicated area residents to make our beautiful state capital even more attractive.

Even as we welcome an average 35,000 visitors each day, although peaking up to 100,000 during our Advent/Christmas Market festivities, our focus remains on just one thing – the experience you have as our personal guest. All our center personnel – from the Center Manager to the engineering staff to the parking garage employees to the ladies at Customer Information – have one shared goal: making your visit as enjoyable as possible.
